DECK THE CITY HOLIDAY DECORATING CONTEST
The Downtown Pittston Partnership is hosting its first Deck The City Holiday Decorating Contest. The goal is to make Pittston a holiday attraction and shopping destination. Join in the fun, get in the Christmas spirit, and let's bring lots of people to our City this holiday season to experience all that Pittston has to offer!

Winners will be awarded a variety of gift cards totaling the above amounts to local businesses in the City of Pittston.
To compete in this contest, an entry form showing intent to participate must be completed, signed, and submitted no later than Friday, December 1, 2020. Registration form may be mailed to the Downtown Pittston Partnership at 71 South Main Street, Pittston Pa 18640, or completed online.
Who Can Enter
This contest is open to all businesses, non-profits, and households located in the City of Pittston.
Deadline for Decorating
Entries must be decorated and lit by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
Location of Entries
Locations of entries must be in the City of Pittston, including the downtown streets, and surrounding areas. All entries must be within the city limits of the City of Pittston. Registration cannot be accepted for entries located outside the the City of Pittston. Possible locations may include storefronts City Residences. Businesses may allow school groups or organizations to decorate for them.
Entries will be judged on “curb appeal.” Indoor decorations will not be included in the judging unless they can be viewed from outside, i.e., windows, doors, etc. All entries must include lights/illumination and be in good taste and family-oriented. All entries must remain lit and decorated from December 1st -January 1 to promote Pittston as a holiday attraction and shopping destination. (Timers are highly encouraged to save energy.) For example, lights on from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. Entrants should monitor their displays to make sure lights are working and properly maintained from December 1st- January 1.
A panel of judges will examine all entries during evening hours on an unannounced date between December 4th - December 8th, 2020. Entries will be judged and winners chosen for the categories listed above.
People's Choice Award
People's Choice Award winner will be determined by the entry receiving the most LIKES in the photo gallery on the Downtown Pittston Partnership Facebook page after it is published the second week in December. LIKES will be tallied on Sunday, December 13th to determine the winner.
Announcement of Winners
All Winners will be announced via Facebook live by Mayor Michael Lombardo, Monday December 21, 2020 at 7 p.m.
Registration gives consent for a photographer to take a photo of your house and for entry photos to be featured in local media, and the Downtown Pittston Partnerships website and social media. Entrants by the signature of their representative agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the DPP, its officers, officials, and volunteers harmless from any and all claims, injuries, damages, losses, or suits including attorney fees, arising out of or in connect with their participation in the Holiday Decorating Contest.
